Because it's a container, not a codec. A MKV can support many types of things inside. But yes, perhaps this list needs expending to include containers.

It says that .MOV files are supported, but Twonky 5.0.56 on my HP EX485 says "unsupported file format". The last version of a Twonky add-in for the EX485 is version 5.1.6. Anybody know if this version supports .MOV?
In order to support more devices let me know of what yours supports. One way is to send me the Sink protocol information of your device.
1. Install Intel UPnP tools
2. run Device Spy
3. It should list all your UPnP device and among them yout device (eg TV, console, etc)
4. Expand the device's tree and find service: urn:upnp-org:serviceId:ConnectionManager:1
5. Expand that and double click on GetProtocolInfo(...).
6. Click on Invoke and send me (or attach a file) the result in field Sink.

i have most of my music files in .AIFF format . My new media player, HDI DUNE does not support .AIFF, but WAV, etc . would i be able to listen to my .aiff music files through Twonky ? would it make a kind of "real-time" conversation, or this is not going to happen ?
