I decided to find out if editing the clients.dat file found in the Twonky Vision directory on my QNAP TS-109 (/mnt/HDA_ROOT/twonkymedia) would solve the problem of recognising my Pinnacle M1001.
On the Twonky Vision setup pages (http://your_QNAP_IP:9000
) I had already manually entered the mac address of my M1001 and since Twonky correctly identifies my Windows Media Player the clients.data contains should contain at least one correct set of data.
The clients.data file shows the following lines:005frank
The first set of data clearly refers to my Windows Media Player, with my computers name, its mac address and IP address in the first three lines. I added the IP address of my M1001 to the line following its mac address, saved the file, restarted the server and presto... my M1001 suddenly shows the big letters again and has search functionality.000
Hopefully this small hack will work untill Twonky solves the problem (hopefully) in a future release.
