Trying to do DSD streaming. Almost there...

Postby zzzthump » Thu Jul 20, 2017 12:59 pm

Hi

Have been looking at a good uPNP server and yours might fit the bill... if I can get it to do what I need it to do.

I am running this on both a NAS and Windows 10 system for now, and dont believe thats giving me any grief.
My issue I suspect is around the capabilities being advertised from both the Pioneer and Oppo Player.
I know for a fact each of these supports DSD/DFF/DSF playback from a uPNP control point linked to another uPNP server on a Synology with no issues. Im moving from the Synology and need a good uPNP server to replace it.

I suspect that the device profile needs to be tweaked to inform Twonky what it can support, however can you assist in this, and will it do what I want?
I think i am looking for something similar to Plex for example from what i have heard, but have not actually tried the software myself.

You will notice in the uPNP query that neither device reports file support for *.dsf or *.dff file types even though I know 100% I can force those files to them.
I dont want Twonky to do any transcoding of DSD type files if pushing to the Pioneer or Oppo.

The Oppo sends this doing a PNP query (have clipped out the video stuff)

The Pioneer Receiver sends this from a PNP query:

Very impressed but need to figure the above out before I purchase.

Many thanks
