Re: bad sorting for my music when browsing "by folder"

You should be able to remove the hard drive[s] from the enclosure and mount it [them] r/w in a computer running linux (even if just booting from a Live CD).

Isn't that what you had to do to enable SSH?

Re: bad sorting for my music when browsing "by folder"

After perusing a few different threads on the iomega support board, it looks like some versions of their firmware require using 'diagnostics.html' instead of 'support.html' to enable SSH.

Re: bad sorting for my music when browsing "by folder"

any idea how to fix this? now that i finally found a solution for the sorting-problem i am still not able to fix it! o. The default SSH user/pw for WD MyBook World drives is root/welc0me (with a zero instead of an oh), which can then be changed once you're 'in' and can edit the file where it...

Re: bad sorting for my music when browsing "by folder"

I agree with phibertron that the /var subdirectory is where the config files for Twonky should be stored (e.g. /var/lib/twonky), but it's up to the hardware manufacturer how they install it, really. If the XML config file isn't in /twonky/resources/view, you can search for it in WinSCP using Alt+F7 ...

Re: bad sorting for my music when browsing "by folder"

Hi Olaf, According to http://www.qnap.com/images/products/comparison/Comparison_NAS.html they sell over 2 dozen different models with Twonky installed. So, I'm not sure which model you have, but they might have a newer version of Twonky (6.0.30) available for you, before you go any further with 5.1....

Re: bad sorting for my music when browsing "by folder"

I'm using the 5.1.9 Twonky included with a MyBook World NAS box. My FLAC audio files are stored in /FLAC/artist/album/## - title.flac format, and are typically tagged with at least Artist, Album, Track ##, Title, Year and Genre. No matter which of the 4 presentation options By Folder iPod-like Advan...

Re: Playing albums on TX-NR807 from My Book World Edition II

I updated the Onkyo andWD hard drive firmware to the latest version. Thw WD drive is running TwonkyMedia Server 5.1.9. I can play single tracks, including FLAC, just fine; however, I cannot play a complete album - playback stops after the first track. Other than creating playlists (for hundreds of ...

Why doesn't this field duplicate the subject in a Reply?
This seems like a good idea to me, but keep in mind that TwonkyServer 7.0 will be moving to a new XML-based client db, so it might make sense to create this glossary after that is released. - Rick
OK... how about documenting what each of its fields are,...

/twonky/resources/clients.db file - entries for new devices

How about a forum just for /twonky/resources/clients.db entries so new devices can be recognized and/or setup to work correctly? Then PVC could possibly include those entries in the clients.db file of future Twonky releases. I see in the developer's forum a guy posted a link to a tool ("magpie&...

Re: Can't connect to Twonky Media Server from My Onkyo TX_NR

In my experience, Onkyo AVR's don't refresh the local media server half of the NET input correctly. They usually pick up NEW media servers just fine; they just don't want to refresh the list correctly. The only way I've found to *make* them refresh after e.g. a media server is renamed, is to turn th...

Re: Twonky server not appearing on Western Digital My book w

I'm wondering what firewall was between the MBWE and your Samsung TV?

It's pretty-easy to open port 9000 in most firewalls (the hardest part will be deciding if you want to open UDP, TCP or both), so advising anyone to permanently disable a firewall is not a good idea, in my opinion.
